About Us
A healthy immune system is vital to protect us against pathogen invasion as well as cancer. Successful pathogens establish foothold in human host by evolving immune-evasion strategies to avoid immune destruction, allowing them to persist in the host. This results in immune-exhaustion, protracted inflammation that is destructive to tissue, and increased risk of cancer.
Since established in September 2013, our laboratory has been exploring different aspects of host-pathogen interaction, including recognition, evasion, and leukocyte migration during infection. We are also interested in elucidating the transcriptional regulatory network in lymphocyte differentiation and its implication in cancer as well as autoimmune disorders.
