Yi Ying Cheok
I graduated from the Bachelor of Biomedical Science, University of Malaya in August 2017 and joined the lab in February 2018 as a PhD student. My PhD project focused on investigating the function of a transmembrane protein, Podoplanin, in macrophages during chronic infection by H. pylori. Additionally, I was also involved in other side projects that work on autoimmune neurological diseases including multiple sclerosis and neuromyelitis optica spectrum disease. These experiences sparked my current research interest in macrophage immunology and neurology. Throughout my journey, I was also supported by the scholarship provided by the Public Service Department of Malaysia. Currently, I work as a Research Analyst in B.braun.
