Won Fen Wong
Dr. Wong received her Ph.D. (2010) and post-doctoral training (2010-2012) under supervision of Professor Masanobu Satake at Tohoku University, Japan. She established the lab with interests to study the complexity of the human immune system that is crucial to counteract pathogen invasion. Her laboratory emphasizes on the use of cellular and molecular techniques to investigate the inflammatory cytokines, innate receptors and signalling pathways involved in pathogen infection, particularly Chlamydia trachomatis and Helicobacter pylori. She has received Monbukagakusho:MEXT scholarship, Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) fellowship, Fulbright Visiting Scholar fellowship, and Institut Mérieux Young Investigator Award. She is a mother of two lovely daughters, she enjoys reading history books and playing badminton during her free time.
